Free Form Pizza Pies


Throw away the rule book of the week, cooking and try out creative combinations, like these free-form pizza tarts.

The ingredient of Free Form Pizza Pies

  • 4 sheets of frozen shortcrust pastry see note thawed
  • 2 tablespoons sun dried tomato pesto
  • 1 egg 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons thickened cream
  • 3 4 cup 80 g of pizza cheese or use a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar
  • 1 4 cup 35 g sun dried tomatoes
  • 100 g of thin slices of salami
  • 1 2 red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 4 cup 30 g pitted kalamata olives cut in half
  • 1 4 cup basil leaves

The Instruction of free form pizza pies

  • preheat the oven to 200u00b0c and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper cut the pastry sheets into four circles of 20cm and then transfer to the lined baking sheets spread a little pesto on each circle of dough leaving a 2cm border then roll up the edges to resemble a pizza crust
  • in a bowl lightly beat the egg yolk and cream with a fork then stir in half the cheese season then carefully pour over the pizza bases
  • top bases with sundried tomatoes salami onion and olives then bake in the oven for 10 minutes remove from the oven sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and crust is crispy sprinkle with the basil leaves then cut into wedges and serve
